Our Organic Devonshire Gold Chickens are bought in as 1 day-old organic chicks from Sam, a former share farmer on Stream Farm who now farms in Devon. After 3 weeks in a heated brooder they are moved to the top field on the farm where they spend a further 8 weeks outside, amongst a variety of fruit and nut trees. They have plenty of space to roam, and they spend their days scratching for grubs, foraging and grazing the herbs and grasses in our organic pastures. The result is a naturally healthy and plump bird, with fantastic flavour.
We sell the birds whole, with giblets, weighing from 1.6-2.3kg.
In 2023 our organic Devonshire Gold chicken was awarded Gold at the Taste of the West awards!
